4.3 Goes Live on Servers this Week

MMO-Champion just broke the news that Patch 4.3 : Dragon Soul, is supposed to drop this week. How excited am I?  My boredom has no limits at this point with the game and I am SOOO glad a new patch is about to come swooping in to save me.

Despite all the great things being added, being the (at times) stereotypical gay guy I am prone to be, all I can think about is all the cute new outfits my toons will get to wear!!  Thank you again MMO-Champion for showing all the new season stuff.  YUMMY!

Real Life Aggro

For the hundreds of no one that read my blog, I have been ridiculously busy with work.  I've just been focused on that and pretty much nothing else.  I truly have nothing even remotely profound to say, I just felt this urge to publish something so as to keep this humble blog alive and kicking.  Who knows?  At some point I may do something substantial with my life that would make this something worth reading some day.  But until that time occurs.... meh.

Xerberus's Spotlight

How stoked was I to discover I was elected to be the featured member for my guild this month.  I enjoyed it far more than I think I should and I also hold the distinct honor of being the first officer ever recognized.  The leadership team usually just spotlights our general guild membership.  My awesome friend Peter created the graphic for it and I pasted the interview questions below.  **blush**

1) How long have you been in Pendragon?

For almost as long as Pendragon has existed. I was playing EMO for its first few weks and just keeping in contact with the members I made friends with and doing my own thing in the “Land of the Guildless”.

2) Why do you choose to call Pendragon your guild home?

When I first transferred to Proudmoore (because I was trying to escape a ragey homophobic server) I had a very short-lived stay in Pendragon’s predecessor guild: Emperium before the membership dropped. The heart and soul of that guild was the raid team “The Dragon’s Fold”, which left and created Pendragon. After much prodding from the friends I made with members of Emperium who joined Pendragon, I finally caved to coaxing by Aisa (aka Mirah). So it’s her fault. She did this to you. She’s the reason you must endure me. Go get her!!

3) If you were stranded on a deserted island off Kalimdor for one-year, what one person (or WoW character) would you like to be there with you?

IRL: it would probably be my best friend, Jordan. He knows how to make me laugh and knows what I’m thinking before even I do. We could probably have an entire conversation over dinner with just a series of nods, facial ticks and gestures…. we would probably incite fights in the same manner.

WoW: I actually would bring Xerberus > formally knows as Hephaestus >formally known as Xephiroth. In the small corner of my mind where I would join an RP server, Xerb has a great back story. He’s the quintessential anti-hero archetype (google it) and has a lot to atone for. In a sick and undoubtedly non-healthy-for-me kind of way, he focuses my own efforts in righting my wrongs.

4) If you could use any one spell or ability in WoW in real-life, which would it be and why?

I would actually LOVE to have a Vial of the Sands that could transform me into a Sandstone Drake so I can fly. I’m not entirely sure I like the idea of being able to be mounted after the fact though. If we’re talking straight spells/abilities though…. Mind Control - Nuff Said.

5) Why is your main your main, what do you love (or hate) about this character?

For the same reasons I listed above. Additionally, he was first known as Xephiroth (named after Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7). I chose a Death Knight because my original main was a squishy clothie mage (Xeverus) on a PVP server where I was PWN’ed on an hourly basis. Ask Felmagi, Slavana or Rislar. They can tell you how I used to rage on vent when the Horde would come after me. So I wanted a toon that could endure more punishment and also bring in his foes from far away (cough cough Death Grip) “That Saronite Node is Mine!!”

6) What was is the most memorable encounter or experience you have had in WoW?

That would literally be downing The Lich King. I started WoW right when Wrath of the Lich King came out so I had no real experiences with end bosses prior. After joining Pendragon to be one of the founding members of Flaming Legion, we were the first team to down Arthas. I remember the screen going black and everyone in mumble going “NO FREAKING WAY!!!” Achievement spam went out in guild and we also spammed the private channel “PugChat” for those that remember it. That experience bonded me to Pendragon and to The Flaming Legion for life.

7) What is one fun fact, quote, or other random piece of information you would like to share with your Pendragonguildmates?

ROTF-LMAO! That is, without a doubt, the fact that I was a complete and utter jerk to Peter when he first approached me to join Pendragon. I regret it to this day. My experiences with Emperium weren’t great and I left that guild shortly after Dragon’s Fold did. So when Peter approached me on Rthurian (formally known as Elyton) I was pretty much like “Yes? What? Oh you have a new guild. Good for you. Well, see ya”. I think I kinda hit on him too while I was being a jerk. Typical guy, am I right? Sorry Peter! Looooooooooooove you!

Warcraft VS Linkin Park

Here I go again, feeding my obsession with video editing.  I actually JUST got a copy of Final Cut Pro, which I can tell is gonna be AMAZEBALLS!  Problem is, my Mac is like 3 years old and can't handle the strain such a BEAST program puts on it.  Looks like I'm gonna have to upgrade and it's gonna cost me $3K to do it.  Blah.

Time to start saving up some serious cheese because I've already decided this will be my birthday present to myself in December.  Until then though, ENJOY!:

WoW-Insider Feature : Rolling with Mad Deeps

So I'm in the office, working hard for the money and one of my guildies sends me a text message: "DUDE!!!  Your video is totally on WoW-Insider!!"

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?

How cool is this?  The ridiculously humble WoW Machinima I spliced together, made it on WoW-Insider?!?!  I was so shocked I practically screamed in the office.  My co-workers were all like: "Umm... X?  You OK?"

LEET!.... ok, I'm calm now.

Penragon Wants You!!

Just a VERY simple video I threw together as a joke for funsies.  Now I'm using it as my recruitment video for Pendragon.  LoL.   Enjoy!!!

Rolling with Mad Deeps

Ladies! Gentlemen! and Undecided!  I've completed my very very VERY first Machinima and I could't be more excited.  This is (in case it isn't obvious) a World of Warcraft Machinima Music Video.  I wrote the lyrics and edited the footage together, and one of my besties, Patrick Dennen, laid down the vocals for my version of Adele's Rolling in the Deep.  Patrick was also the vocalist for the earlier song I spoofed for Part of Your Raid.

Be sure to check out his YouTube Channel and Twitter Feed, both affectionally titled "PaddyDCups"

In any event, ENJOY!!!

Ridiculing Rhyolith

It's like I'm completely addicted to this or something.  LoL  Here comes yet another comic from my team's downing of Lord Rhyolith.  We actually accomplished this a while ago but it's taken me a while to get this comic together.  ENJOY!

WOW @ WoW Insider

So the innocent little song writing session I had not too terribly long ago when I reworked the lyrics to "Part of Your World" to spoof druid healing in World of Warcraft was randomly featured on WoW-Insider!!! I was PUMPED beyond belief that they took notice of the work Patrick and I put together.  I truly wouldn't have had anyone even notice my spoofing if it wasn't for his phenomenal voice.  I also included the video he has on YouTube from his channel at PaddyDCups.

PS: I also created the faux CD cover.  LoL

Besting Beth'Tilac

Woot!  We got Beth'tilac down!!!  Even more woot to the fact that it inspired me to create yet another Flaming Legion comic.  Having to always tsep up my game, I did two panels and made things a little bit more dynamic.  The greatest challenge of these panels is that I'm constantly snapping screenshots through the 3 hours of raiding we do and then sorting through them to tell a story.  I get vurry vurry tard.  Anyway, yay!

Shannox Shamed

In an incredible feat of awesome-sauce, we downed Shannox yesternight.  I was giddy as... well... something really giddy.  Couldn't help but commemorate the event with yet another comic I hashed together from pieces of screenshots I randomly take throughout.  This is starting to get addictive.

Happy Independence Day

So not a fan of this holiday.  Not because I'm not proud to be an American, but because it's the birthday of my stepfather who I truly believe is the height of douche-bag-ness.... is that a word?  Oh well.  That being said, I choose not to let the idea of him ruin a fantastic day full of friends, fireworks, fun and let me not forget to mention food!  As in the BBQ variety.  Doesn't get more American than that.... well... except maybe for this awesome graphic of the new Captain America flick.  Here's hoping Chris Evans heals the wounds inflicted by my husband Ryan Reynolds.  If he does, I may need to get a divorce.

Firelands : Day One

Yesternite, my raid team, Flaming Legion, went into the new raid for Patch 4.2, Firelands.  Holy mother of GAWD, there is nothing but trash trash TRASH all over.  I think I see why it's called RAGE of the Firelands.  It pretty much just feels like one giant questing zone with no definitive path to the bosses.  After we spent nearly an hour clearing the amount of trash we needed to get the first boss we were gonna attempt, Shannox, to spawn, then it was wipefest.

The fight itself is actually not hard.  It is however, another DPS check.  Despite our group being able to pull sick numbers, Shannox just kinda laughed and shrugged everything off.  We consistently got him to 20% and then just fell short.  I think most everyone, like myself was pretty disheartened.  Oh well, we'll always have next week.  Until then though, I posted this little comic I created on my guild site to try and lighten the mood of my team.  Hopefully it works.

Why Ryan.... WHY!?!?

So I went to the new Green Lantern movie starring my husband Ryan Reynolds..... I don't wanna talk about.  I can't talk about it..... I just..... can't.

Here's a pic of the stand-up poster in front of the theatre I saw it at.  That's gonna be the most interesting thing I can say about this movie...

Part of Your Raid

Last night my raid team, Flaming Legion with Pendragon of Proudmoore (PVE), were making some attempts on Heroic Atramedes and were getting Stonewalled left and right.  We just didn't have our A-game.  In between attempts though, I was joking relentlessly in a channel with some of my in-game friends and re-working lyrics to songs from Disney's "The Little Mermaid" because one of our healers is named Airielle.  What began as a simple joke turned into an obsession for me before bed and I spent most of the time just writing out lyrics to what I've affectionately named "Part of Your Raid". So this goes out to one of the best healers in the biz, and one of my good friends, Patrick.  He's got wicked sick heals on his resto druid, Airielle.  I've included a YouTube video of the instrumental track for the song.  Hope you like it.

Look at this buff, isn't it neat?
Mark of the wild from your head to your feet.
Wouldn't you think I'm a girl.
A girl who heals... Everything.

Look at this raid, void zones galore.
Step in the bad and you will hear me roar.
Don't look to me and assume:
"Sure.  She'll heal everything!"

I've got melee and casters a plenty.
I've got two tanks that play aggro whore.
You want more DPS?  We've got plenty.
But who cares?
No big deal.
QQ more.

I wanna be where the pro raiders are.
I wanna see, wanna see end-bosses.
Blackwing Descent which has...
What do you call him?  Oh! Nef.

Rolling rejuvs, you won't get too far.
Swiftmend's required for efflorescence.
Showing the raid that I'm....
What's that word again? Leet.

You get a DOT. I'll cast a HOT.
Clearcasting procs and I'll use a Regrowth.
Tranquility for you and me.
Part of your raid.

What would I give if I could heal only Heroics?
What gold I'd pay to always wear my Best in Slot?
Bet ya with PUGs, they'd love my mug.
Bet ya they'll always send me invites.
Resto Druid,
Heals so fluid,
Ready to mend.

And ready to heal through the mass AOE.
Tanks get my lifebloom, it stacks one, two, three.
Don't stand in fire or else you'll get,
What's the word? Burned!

So live and learn, wouldn't you love,
Love to get heals that are just unheard of?
Watch and you'll see, someday I'll be
Part of your raid!

DC Universe Reboot

Sooo, I'm not even going to try and pretend I truly understand nor comprehend what exactly is going on and why it is DC Comics seems to have given the big finger to their dedicated readers by rebooting their entire line-up of titles and starting each issue as a fresh #1.  I don't really read or follow DC outside of the random story like Batman's HUSH storyline (mostly because my comic book idol Jim Lee drew it).  I will however say that if Marvel ever pulled that same sh!t, I would be livid beyond words.  I think DC Comics was trying to do what Marvel did with the "Marve Ultimates" continuity but in a totally different and douche-laden kind of way.

In any event, this is not about me commenting or explaining that what they're doing... too much.  This is about me just sort of enjoying the artwork some of the creators have done to revamp some very classic heroes.  Looks very cool IMO.  I figured why not shared some of my favorites?  I apologize profusely to any avid DC Comics readers and hope you survive the horrible thing done to you.

Death Knight T12

So I wasn't a big fan of the Death Knight Tier 12 armor set until MMO-Champion actually did a data-mined video of it.  Now.... I'm totes loving it.  I think my initial misgivings stemmed from the fact that they only showed a static version with the red coloring.  SOOO not a fan of red.  If that's the heroic version of the tier set, I might be perfectly content with the base version.  Style before Substance.  What can I say?

X-Men : First Class

Guess what movie I saw tonight?

Holy Mutha of Gawd, it was amazing!  I completely blasted through the buffet I got at the concession stand because X-Men just grabbed hold of my attention from the first frame and never put it down.  Even the slower, more restrained, moments kept my eyes from blinking just out of sheer fear I would miss something juicy.  I appreciate how the movie incorporated some historical events into its storytelling, from Nazi Germany to the Cuban Missile Crisis, that grounded the plot in a very real way.  It was a level of storytelling that the other two X-Men movies couldn't even reach....

..... which by the way I only mean X1 and X2.... X3 shall never be spoken of.... EVER!...  sorry... still REALLY bitter about that one....

.... anyways.  If I had to levy any criticism I think it would be for Emma Frost.  I'm truly sorry but January Jones was so not a good pick.  It just seemed like they picked the blonde with the most smokin body and poured her into a skintight, white, pleather dominatrix outfit.  She could have.... nay... SHOULD HAVE smoldered more.

The highlight of the movie was most definitely the cameos.  I think a collective "Holy Sh!t" rang through the audience when they popped up.  I won't spoil it beyond saying for once, it wasn't Stan Lee.

Thank you to the creative team behind X-Men First Class for reinvigorating the mutants.  They were all but murdered by X3.... seriously.... stop talking about it....

.... so so sad.

Winged Lion Mount

Blizzard just released the newest mount for sale on the official Blizzard Store online.

How sexy is that beast?  I just had to have it.  Plus, my lowbie toons don't have to suffer through the fail beasts you get as starting mounts.  They can ride in style!.... even though it's only like 60% faster.

I posted the cool video MMO-Champion compiled a while back.

Xerbie's Throne

While waiting for raid, I decided to get Xerberus all dolled up in what I refer to now as his Xerb 1.0  outfit and take a seat on Nefarian's Throne.  It wasn't like he was still using it since my raid team already kicked his dragon-ass and snatched a bunch of epics.  Tee-hee.

SuperBoy oh Boy!

I'm usually a total Marvel Comics enthusiast, but hotties like this guy make me want to read DC.  I need to go shopping this VERY moment and find this exact outfit; if for not other reason than that faintest of hopes that if I did, the boy would come WITH the shirt.  Drool much?

The Rapture 2011 is on Backorder

I pretty much refused to even post anything concerning the upcoming Rapture foretold by some 100 year old tard monkey with nothing better to do than incite fear and panic among the small minded idiots of the world.  Unless you've been hiding under a rock, I'm sure you've seen all the buzz about the Rapture coming to take the souls of the saved and leave the rest of us heathens in post-rapture looting parties in their absence.  I truly have only ONE thing to say about all this:

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

The truly sad part of this is the aforementioned small-minded idiots who bought the shit.  They quit their jobs, sold their possessions, divorced spouses, blah blah blah.  They were so eager and ready to give up everything in preparation of The Rapture and now they need to face the fallout of their decisions.  It's truly easy to blame the false prophet, Harold Camping, for steering them towards this conclusion.  I can see where they're going, but I truly cannot blame the guy for following his misguided beliefs.  Those that chose to come with, need to take ownership of their actions.  How much do you have to hate your existence to buy into something so far fetched that you use it as a some sort of scapegoat to abandon your life?  How much self-loathing and lack of self-respect must that take?

Keep in mind, I'm not denouncing any religions, beliefs, or anything of that nature.  I'm looking merely at all the stupid that seems to be so prevalent right now.  Makes me sick.

In other news, I'm very upset I didn't get to loot my local Apple store for a brand new iMac.  I swear the game performance on my current one is sluggish at best.  Bah!  My DPS is suffering!

Marvel VS World of Warcraft

These posters (made by the EPIC team at TheDailyBlink.com) are such severe levels of EPIC that I present them with no additional comment... well.... maybe one:  WIN!

Patch 4.1 - RIse of the Xandalari

Ok.  Ok.  Ok.... So I freely admit that it's actually spelled "Zandalari" VS my much more better option of "Xandalari" but I really need to point out something important:

This is MY Blog!!

That being said, I'm not ridiculously thrilled with this patch.  Yes it's nice to be able to gear up all my alts to get ready for raiding they may never see but I found this to be a bit lackluster.  That and the physical aesthetic of most of the gear in their makes me cringe in my plate.  Social Suicide as my friend Patrick (a.k.a Airielle) would say.

It's been a little over a week now since its release and all I can say is... meh.  I try to take it with a grain of salt because when I went to BlizzCon, this patch was supposed to include the Firelands Raid instance, so I believe it was supposed to be a much bigger deal.  I think Blizz just couldn't iron out the kinks fast enough but the reason they're hiding behind is that they feel the gaming community hasn't sufficiently conquered current raid content.  Very possible I suppose.  I wouldn't know though since I am in fact a "Defender of a Shattered World".  Tee hee.

In preparation for the the revamped troll heroics though, WoW Insider posted some strat guides for the new instances.  They're slightly incomplete but they give a dang good idea of how to navigate through.

Thor! God of Thunder and my Wildest Fantasies!

I cannot say enough about the EPIC of this movie.  It was amazing.  The plot may've been a bit formulaic but still done in a way that despite it's predictability in many parts, you were still very well entertained.  ON a much more gay fanboy side, how HAWT is Chris Hemsworth as Thor?  I don't usually go GaGa for blond guys but OMGWTFQQBBQ!!  Seeing it in 3D only made the experience that much sweeter.  I mean seriously, Chris Hemsworth can use his hammer on me ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.... have I shared too much?

I do feel however, that I need to take a moment to point out the level of incompetence the theatre has with the spelling an acronym as simple as 3D.  Please note proof of stupid below.  Kthxbai!

MIA

This blog is clearly losing it's original intent and becoming more of a journal for me.  And since no one IS reading, I guess that means it stays private as all hell.  But seriously, HOLY CRAP where have I been?  Well.... I've been working in the ghettos.... no... REALLY, the ghettos!..... still am actually.

I got a job working at a community that has low-income housing programs available to those that can fake like they don't make enough money to live.  Government Subsidized Housing FTW!  Fact of the matter is that maybe 5% of all the low-income applicants we receive actually deserve to benefit from these programs that our taxes are paying for.  The rest are pretty much ghetto-ass sons of bitches that are working the system for all it's worth.  This may not be the most evolved way of thinking, but lets see you work in this filth-infested environment for half a year and see what your outlook is like.

I put in my notice recently but, due to recent staffing issues, was asked to stay part time Sat-Mon before I leave indefinitely.  This actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise.  Rather than feel rushed to find another line of work while living off off my savings, I can actually really focus on JUST the right job I want with a company where I can actually grow.

My biggest con is that I actually LOVE my office.  They're literally the BEST people I've ever had the pleasure of working with.  I kinda cried when I gave my notice.  That's how hard it was for me to say goodbye.  Sigh.

Oh well, time to see what the future holds.  Maybe now I'l have more time to blog since I'm not stressed out beyond belief and irritated by the ghetto bullshit I face on a daily basis.  Only time will tell.
